The show was a success on every level. So many talented people gathered to share in this time of nostalgia and renewed hope. So many fine people came to listen and support the event. As the saying goes, we didn't come in on the same ship but it's the same boat we are on. It was a pleasure and an honor to be a part of this gathering. The Scoop on the Performers

Vincent Allis, a 2007 graduate of Snohomish High School, is studying music at Skagit Valley College where he plays guitar and harmonicas in the jazz band. He is also studying piano privately, and plays several other instruments. He is joined by SHS senior Cherilyn Reimers (bass) and Volkert Volkersz (guitar).

Greg Cardinal is a transplanted Midwesterner who lives in Monroe. He has taken up the guitar (again) and likes to play music with his friends, sing and play in local coffeehouses, write new songs and finish old ones he started long ago. Greg is joined by Mike Eaton (congas) and Ed Moda (guitar).

Michael Clune has performed jazz, country, rock, blues, and folk in the Seattle area for two decades with various local bands (Gopher Broke, Night Life and China Rose), playing drums, keyboards, lead and session vocals and writing. Dean Edwards is multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who graduated from Snohomish High School where he played brass instruments. He has played bass and guitar in several bands and churches in the area and is also a well-respected guitar technician. He is joined by Steve Lantz (keyboards & vocal), Mike Gosner (bass) and Eric Neufeld (drums).

Betsy Haber, AKA BetZ, has been involved in local music scenes since the 70's. She prefers being part of a group effort, like this one, and most of her musical energy is focused on worship music. She has been known to print up song sheets and appear at a party with guitar and high expectations, especially from Baby Boomers.

Jam Club of Snohomish High School meets once a week for young performing musicians and songwriters to try out new material and to jam. Slated to appear in this show are Brent Generous (guitar), Brandon Hill (piano and vocals), Sadie Norkin (guitar and vocals), Cherilyn Reimers (bass, fiddle and/or mandolin), Magdeline [Maggie Smelser] (guitar), Aaron Thill (guitar), and Anika Tobiason (bass).
Jim McLaughlin, world champion blues harmonica player, is joined by wife, Pamela Van Kirk, on vocals and guitar. Jim recently recorded a CD with Bobby Holland and Breadline. He was the featured performer at last year’s Harp Attack in Anacortes. Pam is a multi-instrumentalist and was voted “best sax at the Tulalip Casino Blues Jam.”

Greg Murat (mur-rah) is a singer, songwriter and poet, who started his career playing drums in nightclubs at age 15. He played drums in a heavy metal band for the troops in Viet Nam, and as a guitarist was a founding member of the local band the Banana Brothers. He performed as a solo act, and with others in the 80s and 90s, and he continues to play in area clubs and concerts.

Tim Noah is an Emmy award winning composer and producer. He has performed countless live performances, including two appearances at Avery Fisher Hall in New York’s Lincoln Center. His latest release, One Fell Swoop, featuring eleven original songs, was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jay Pulliam is a songwriter and recording artist from Snohomish with an album of new material titled Rumoured to Exist. During the mid-to-late ‘90s, Jay performed drums for, and recorded, the bands Satellite Circus and Rhyming Polanskis, while also writing for Seattle newspaper The Rocket, where he interviewed his idol, Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys).

Jake Sand is a guitarist/bassist/songwriter/singer who's been playing music for 15 years and played everything from country western bass to organ/saxophone in a reggae band. He currently performs lead guitar with soul singer Teixeira, occasionally plays lap steel/mandolin/harmonica for the Seattle indie band Reily, and manages to find time to perform and sing his owns songs as well.

Magdeline [Maggie Smelser], a senior at Snohomish High School, started playing guitar when she was 12 and has been writing songs for a couple of years. She was featured at last year’s all-school Arts Assembly and recently opened for the Senate, one of the regions most popular acoustic trios.

Straight from the Shed consists of David Douglas and Rod Ashton, who were childhood friends in Bellevue when it was still a rural community. They have both been active in productions here at the Thumbnail Theater and often perform together at open mics. They are joined by Jake Sand (bass).

Rachael Teixeira, formerly known as Rachael Troy of the band Precious Troy, now fronts a new band, Teixeira. She is a soulful singer who describes her music as “like Tabasco style. Mixed with Chinese hot mustard. And chives.” She is joined by band mate, Jake Sand (guitar).

Volkert Volkersz is a singer/songwriter/guitarist and is also librarian and Jam Club adviser at Snohomish High School. He is also a church choir member and co-director in Brier and helps organize informal parish songfests. This is his fourth year organizing these benefit concerts for the Snohomish Community Food Bank.
