The party was wonderful. The band was hot and the audience was beautiful and we had a grand time. Our trip up with Maggie and Rock Peterson on their beautiful boat, The Beach House, was just grand. It was a workout for the boys. I was unloading gear at 3:30PM in the afternoon and was walking back to the boat after reloading the gear with the guys, at 2:30AM. A very long day.
Thank you too all the people who came out to party with us and bring in the New Year. There were a lot of them and they were a charming group. We were so happy to be there.
Thanks especially to Cynthia and Larry Mason who played a huge role in getting us in the door. We love you.

It I had a band I wonder what I would name it
Some suggestions from family and friends who are all nearly asleep: Rapid Turnover, Planet 5, Hi Grandma, Spotted Leopard, Papa's My Name. Ronnie said GMB (Grandpa's Made Bald, I mean Greg Murat Band), The Beagles, The Islands, The Beach, Beach Beat, Beat Beach, The Reach, The Intervals, Fifth Circle, The Buffet, The Brunch, Tequila Cactus, Taken, The Fokkers, Folk Rock, The Gliders, The Sliders, Not the DB's, The Riders, Not Rice Again, The Friends, The Wizards, Dave's Not Here, The Lizards, The Blizzards, somebody stop me! Stop me now. I kind of like The Beagles for a harmony oriented folk rock band, anyway I need a name for the shape shifting band.

John Matthews on Latin percussion
This was a magical
evening of celebration and we did it right. People were thrilled with
the music partly because they could see us having so much fun. John Matthews
was bold and daring trying all kinds of new ideas and playing beautifully
and tastefully. One idea he used that was especially effective was playing
brushes on the timbales; sweet. Dale has developed his sound and invested
in nice gear and his flute sounded fantastic. Jimmy had a corner spot
for his bass amp and he got a nice fat sound and was on the money as well. Faith watched Kayden so Andie was actually able to come to the party for
a while. That doesn't happen much so we were happy to have her there.

It was
truly a wonderful time for all at the Airport gig. There are so many great
people who show up for Dan's party every year and he has made it a tradition
to have the band there. We rolled out the tunes for over four hours and
everyone was shining in the summer sunshine. Manolito was in fine form
and added his Latin touch and percussive melodies. Scott MacGougan can
paint harmonic beauty with just chords and he can get down and dirty and
rip out the rock tunes. John Matthews was in his temple of tempo with
surrounded by timbales, congas, bongos, woodblocks, bells and a host of
percussion play things. Good times and good vibes. Jimmy had a great sound
on his bass and was driving the tunes with his unique style and smile.
Mike Daily pounded out the beat and tip toed in time when the tune called
for it. It is always fun to look back and see Mike with his big smile
in his element and making music. We are only as good as our audience and
we were fine. I look forward to another party next year.

The Three Burritos ( Ronnie, Jimmy

by Ronnie's brother "Jeno". This party is a musician's dream.
Keith and Linda are such good people and great hosts. They made us feel
at home and very welcome from the first moment. It was like being guests
at the party rather than the musicians hired to play. Keith makes some
world class beer and that is another reason we enjoy their parties so
much. Fantastic food, drinks and company. In fact there gathering is one
of a kind. Not only are the guests very appreciative, clapping after every
song, but they become more attentive as the night goes on. When does that
happen? The more they drink the better we sound. Just kidding. This is
our second year doing this party and it is better every time.

Starbucks was a kick in the pants. We had a great time. There were three
performers, Miranda opened and Lawrence closed the show. We played in
the middle. I brought the PA in around 3:30 stored it in the back and
at 6:30 we set up and did sound check. It is a very nice venue. Strangely
the moment I plugged my guitar in it shorted out and I could get no
sound. Weird. Lawrence let me play his Stratocastor. Dee smoked the
place. Jimmy and I had a blast and Jimmy closed the show with Unchain
My Heart. Thanks to Dale and Mary Ellen, and John for coming out and
our friend Steve who came from Renton with his son. There was a very
good crowd and we got a standing ovation. I hope we get to do it again. Photos

This event was great fun and the band rocked.
Kayden danced in front of the stage.
Should have been there.
On Saturday night December 13th I performed with my friends Scott Drexler and Jimmy Culler at Tim Noah's Thumbnail Theater. Scottie and Jimmy are exceptional musicians and good people and I always enjoy spending time with them. Scott's congas were good support even though the tunes we played were pretty mellow and he kicked it up on Ditty Bop
Christmas with a hot harmonica solo. Jimmy laid down the bass lines that kept it all grooving and both he and Scott grabbed harmonies on Ditty Bop Christmas. It had me smiling.
We were part of the variety show, TheTim Noah Kaddywompas Holiday Radio Show which included actors and numerous musicians. Tim is an amazing human being and consummate performer. I was honored to be on the same stage. It is a lovely venue in Snohomish with a cast and crew made up of fine and talented human beings. The show was quite enjoyable and entertaining. There was a lot of laughing, some stirring of emotions and a few lessons learned about life and people. Two of Tim's tunes were exceptionally uplifting to me: The Faces of Christmas, and All I Want for Christmas is Peace on Earth. The themes were so inspirational and his voice so clear and strong. The enthusiasm of the crew was contagious and their love and respect for Tim was evident. The show included Tim reading a story about a boy and his boomerang and it included sound effects for support. It was hilarious and it ended on a moral note of understanding and tolerance. The show also included a few of the commercials Tim has written for local businesses including one of my favorites, McDaniel's hardware.
A highlight of the evening for me was Madison McGuiness. She is a star to be born. Jimmy and I were talking and he said she sounds like a combination of Norah Jones and somebody else. I said she sounds like her. She has a beautiful and soulful voice and sings with emotion and poise while accompanying herself on the piano. Bravo!
Tim Noah's Thumbnail Theater, an intimate venue, an evening of laughter and joy in the fine little town of Snohomish awaits you. Tim is supported by a band of local musicians including some incredibly talented members of Snohomish High School. It was a great evening and quite an inspiration. I hope to be a lot more involved in a support role in the future. It was good to play again. The new Christmas song I Love Christmas Best (Here in the Northwest) was a big hit.
I have written a program for children called It's Real to Feel and I hope to bring it to the Thumbnail next year and I look forward to working with Cyndi and Tim as well. Two thumbs up for Tim Noah and The Thumbnail Theater.
The TLC benefit has a wonderful special magic to it for me as it happens at the Love Shack where Andie and I were married. What a perfect way to spend it: with friends making music and doing good and with Andie and Kayden right here by my side.
I am honored to be a part of anything Larry and Cindy put together because they only do things one way: great.
Larry has a duo with Carl Funk and they are really starting to bend some ears and turn some heads. Larry is a seasoned producer, singer, acoustic guitarist and drummer with a whole array of credits to to his name and fame. I hope to see a great turn out. If you can't come you could still contact Cindy and make a donation.
A special thanks to my wonderful band. They have all worked their butts off getting ready for the show. We have shown ourselves we can do justice to the gift of these songs and perform them with magic with just the four us. We are all very excited.
