Silent T Studios November

Updates
Freedom's project continues with more great music of the spirit being made. Thanks to Michael Gardner at GC Pro Audio for the demo of some very fine gear.
The 29th of November will be a great night at Provs. The Delivery Boys Reunion will take place. It should be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to seeing old friends Cindy and Joanie from the Taylor's Landing days. Hope to see you all there.
We saw the Song writer showcase at the Opera House last night. Shawn Colvin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patti Griffin and Dar Williams. Kathy and Dale and Andie and I had great seats and we really enjoyed the show. It was a good thing and I will write up a little review later. Double shows over the weekend have me feeling a little weary this morning. On and on we go.

Performances
I played at the Columbia Winery this weekend for another Tasting Event-A Taste of Red. It was great fun and we met lots of new people. I played upstairs this time center stage from 11:30 to 4:30. There was a cellist playing in the cellar. Andie rolled up her sleeves and helped get people into the event by preparing glasses and tickets. Liz charmed everyone who passed our table and sold a bunch of CD's. The wines were excellent and we had good family fun. My performances were well received and I heard from lots of people that they came after hearing on the Mountain that I was going to be playing.
This month I am continuing at Cafe de Paris from 7-9 on Friday and Saturday evenings, playing ambient and mostly instrumental music. The cafe is at 109 Main Street in downtown Edmonds on the right, just before the ferry. I am working with the wait staff of Crystal, Adam, Nicole and Collette. Firmin is the Owner & Chef and Oscar is kitchen support. The food is wonderful and it is a warm and intimate setting to combine fine dining and good friends. I feel like this will be a good partnership. Reservations are recommended but not necessary.

I will also be at Province's this month on 14th and 15th. There is a big Delivery Boys Reunion coming up on the 29th with Jamie, Ronnie and Dave for sure. I heard from Aaron last night that Dave had planned to fly out the morning of the 29th. That would have left something lacking in a reunion. He will be here till the following Monday.

Studio
Freedom and Rob will be coming over this week to plan recording some tracks. I heard cuts from their new CD and I was speechless. It is reminiscent of the creativity of Sgt. Pepper. I am so excited to work with them. I am thrilled that Josh is about ready to start tracking his tune Long Road Home. What a powerful song.
Projects are continuing with Bill Spies and that is good. We are going for live and playing together. I love that feeling of interacting with other musicians.
Casey Garland has enlisted the help of George Merril on his project and has some good foundation tracks down. He graciously offered to let me sing a song or two on the CD. Between studios we hope to wrap that up this month. It is going to be a busy one.
Dee Robertson is going to be making a Demo CD at Silent T Studios, after we work out the details. I know that will be fun.

Thank You

Thanks to Kenny Lee for continuing to support live music in his fine restaurant. It has been great to play there all these years. To the musicians like Scott and Deb MacGougan who come in and share the corner with me from time to time. To Dale and Kathy for calling out their custom made set lists when I have a brain lapse. To all of you players and listeners who are sharing this time on the planet. Let's stay friends forever.

Reviews

October Road-James Taylor
Since we didn't see any shows this month I would like to comment on JT's CD. I think it is an anthology of his writing career and has the flavor of his most classic songs. September Grass and My Traveling Star have that wonderful guitar work and the distinctive depth of his voice. Mean Old Man is a natural born jazz standard deep and funny at the same time. Whenever You're Ready has the feel of joyful anticipation and a dash of R &B flavor like How Sweet It Is. There are some classics on this CD right down to the final cut Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, which is one of my all time favorites. I get the s sense that the CD was fun to make and you can feel it in the vocals especially. So check it out.
