Updates
All is well in New York. Freedom and Rob are staying
in a Penthouse on top of a building overlooking Greenwich Village. New York
at Christmas, wouldn't that be grand.
I just about have the studio running on my Mac again. The PC works grand
and I do like Nuendo software for it's audio but Digital Performer is still
first choice for ease of use and editing capabilities.
I am happy to say that my writing is starting to flow once again
and I am happy with the last two tunes I have written. I have felt like I
had lost it forever when I fell and hit my head and since I found myself
playing solo once more. Time heals though. I may not be the sharpest Knife
in the drawer anymore, but I still have a little edge left and I have hope.
It has done my heart grand to see my son recording tracks for his CD in our
home. When I put myself in park and put on the emergency brake, when I stand
still and hear his music and lyrics I am moved to joy and to tears at the
gift God has given him. We need that music and I believe it will be given
wings. That is it for the quick update on Christmas Eve.
Freedom and Rob are now in New York working with Matt Stein and mixing their
CD. They are editing at home to stay just ahead of the game. They got tons
of work done but have plenty left to do. So far they are loving New York.
Once again I am very excited for their future. The world needs this music.
A stupid amount of things went wrong on the last night
but I wasn't at all surprised: light stirs up the darkness but you have to
just walk through it to the other side. They did and now they are there.
I was watching my dreams be realized as I watched in the studio that was
built for just such projects. Both Josh and I got to play on the CD and that
was so much fun. Things had gotten so stressful with the schedule they were
under that Rob and Freedom were about overwhelmed. I came home from a 6 hour
gig at about midnight. I got my guitar out and began to play and sing. Josh
picked up the Washburn and Rob got his 12 string and we played music till
5 am. That evening seemed to bring us all together and remind us what it
is all about: Love and Music and Spirit.
So, once the
G4 is out of the hospital I will be working on my acoustic project. HAPPY
HOLIDAYS from SILENT T.
Performances
I will be at Provs the third weekend of December 19th & 29th..
This month I am continuing at Cafe de Paris from 7-9 on
Friday and Saturday evenings, playing ambient and mostly instrumental music.
The cafe is at 109 Main Street in downtown Edmonds on the right, just before
the ferry. I am working with the wait staff of Crystal, Adam, Nicole and
Collette. Firmin is the Owner & Chef and Oscar is kitchen support. The
food is wonderful and it is a warm and intimate setting to combine fine dining
and good friends. I feel like this will be a good partnership. Reservations
are recommended but not necessary.
